ANNUAL MODEL UN CONFERENCE

Chinese proverb

Our annual Good Cop Bad Cop MUN conference has become a regular calendar fixture for many schools around the world. Providing a global, online debating platform for 15–18-year-olds involving 400 pupils from 30 schools in 15+ countries, it is always themed around climate change and based largely on resolutions from the latest international COP conference. Good Cop Bad Cop provides a powerful, dynamic and real-time experience to negotiate with peers, build empathy and inspire to be innovators, change-makers and solution-finders. Many want to discover more about the world, particularly China, as a result of their participation. We are always amazed at the high calibre of debate, how much young people are capable of and how passionate they can be.

This year’s Good Cop Bad Cop will take place on Friday 6 February 2026 from 1000-1400 GMT bringing pupils online across multiple time zones. Partnering with our Host School, The King’s School Macclesfield, and bringing together government/state and private schools, our conference promotes educational equality and opportunity. It is ultimately pupil-led on the day, providing exceptional leadership opportunities as well as enhancing critical oracy skills.

Find out more about how you can stimulate greater global awareness and enrich curriculum learning by registering your school to participate in 2026 by downloading the conference brochure below or by emailing us today: info@engagewithchina.org Last few remaining places available!

Using English as the conference language, participating pupils also develop skills including negotiation, collaboration, leadership, research, cross-cultural, diplomacy & confidence. Pupils build empathy and tolerance speaking from the perspective of a country other than their own. What’s more, they are inspired by the VIP speeches given by leaders and influencers from the diplomatic, sustainable energy and commercial world.
